Scouts Long Length Uniform Blouse with Stretch

This loose fitting Scouts Long Length Uniform Blouse with stretch fabric has been designed to meet the modern day requirements of Scouting. The blouse is a long-length version of the official Scouts uniform blouse and may be worn by all members of the Scouts section. It is an alternative to the standard uniform blouse and is made to be worn over trousers. It is designed particularly for Members who would prefer to dress modestly due to religious, cultural or other reasons.

Made from a cotton/poly/spandex mix, this blouse has some stretch to it, making it very comfortable to wear. It features a single breast pocket and a Scouts Fleur de Lis embroidered in green on the upper sleeve.

At what age can you start Scouts?

You can start Scouts from the age of 10½. Scouts are for young people aged 10½ to 14 years

What do Scouts get up to?

Discovering the world - Being a Scout is all about discovering the world on your own terms and making the most of what you have, wherever and whoever you are.

Alongside your new friends, you’ll master the skills that'll help you weather the storms of life, and try things you’d never get the chance to do at home or at school - working with trained volunteers to achieve whatever you set your mind to.

Scouts seek out the answers to the big questions, and to the smaller questions that don’t seem to matter but really should. Most importantly, they say yes more often than they say no - whether they’re taking part in their first ever camp away from home, writing their first line of code, or accepting the last of the toasted marshmallows.

The Origins of Scouts

 Scouts began with 20 boys and an experimental camp held during the first nine days of August 1907. It was held at Brownsea Island, Dorset.

The camp was a great success and proved to Robert Baden-Powell, the camp’s organiser and Scouts’ founder, that his training and methods appealed to young people and really worked.

In January 1908, Robert Baden-Powell published the first edition of 'Scouting for Boys', issued in fortnightly parts at 4d each. It was an immediate success.

In April 1908, there was the introduction of ‘The Scout’. It was a penny weekly magazine that was to provide an important link for the rapidly increasing number of boys who were joining together to form Patrols of Scouts.
