Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person's liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
Scout Store has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships. We are also committed to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in the supply chain. Workers must not be required to lodge ‘deposits or their identity papers with their employer and are free to leave their employer after reasonable notice.
Scout Store is also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout the supply chain, consistent with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and ILC Convention 29&105. We expect the same high standards from all of our suppliers and business partners, and we prohibit the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour; and we demand that no one, neither adults nor children are held in slavery or servitude. We expect our suppliers to hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.
