Welcoming a new Beaver Scout to the Colony (and the worldwide Scouts family) is an exciting time, especially for the person making their Promise. This Beavers Promise badge is an ideal keepsake to remember that moment for years to come.

Preparing to make a Promise

Before making their Promise, a Beaver should have plenty of time to look at the different Promises they can make and decide which one is right for them. Beavers might want to talk about their choice with their parents or carers.

The Promise

The Promise is a simple way to help young people and adults celebrate their shared Scout values. Every Scout promises to stick by these values when they become a member.

There are four versions of the Promise appropriate to different age groups.

There is a Promise for;

• Squirrels
• Beavers
• Cubs
• Scouts, Explorers, Network and adults

Scouts is open to people of all faiths and of none. We have different variations of our Promise, so everyone can make a Promise that means something to them, no matter their background or belief.

The Beaver Scout Promise for members who are atheist or of no faith background

The Beaver Scout Promise for members who are Buddhist
I promise to do my best to be kind and helpful and to act with love towards everyone.

The Beaver Scout Promise for members who are Christian
I promise to do my best to be kind and helpful and to love God.

The Beaver Scout Promise for members who are Hindu
I promise to do my best to be kind and helpful and to love the world.

The Beaver Scout Promise for members who are Humanist
I promise to do my best to be kind and helpful and to love our world.

The Beaver Scout Promise for members who are Jewish
I promise to do my best to be kind and helpful and to love God.

The Beaver Scout Promise for members who are Muslim
I promise to do my best to be kind and helpful and to love Allah.
