Safety in Scouts is a shared responsibility, and Trustees play a vital role in guiding and overseeing how it is managed locally. Trustees are not expected to run day to day activities, but to make sure the right systems, support and oversight are in place. By setting expectations, asking informed questions and supporting volunteers, Trustee Boards help make sure risks are managed proportionately, so far as is reasonably practicable, without undermining adventure or opportunity.
