A step-by-step guide to ordering Custom Printed Clothing

At Scout Store we are delighted to offer our customers a new personalised service creating custom printed clothing for everyone - not just for Scouts. As a trusted, well-established retailer who knows a lot about quality (ask our Scouts!), you can be reassured that high standards and care are guaranteed on every order you place with us.

What to expect when ordering your clothing

To ensure we create and deliver the garment you are expecting, we ask you to please follow the below simple steps:

  1. Design your t-shirt, polo shirt or hoodie and save it as a Vector file, PDF, AI or EPS format. You will be able to find instructions on how to do this online if you get stuck! Please note any specific colour matches using Pantone references on your file so we can ensure an exact match.

  2. Select your desired product, colour, size and placement of design on our website and add to bag.

  3. Place your order for your custom printed clothing through our website. Payment will need to be made at the time of ordering.

  4. Our Customer Services team will contact you for the design file. Please remember, the garment will exactly replicate your digital design so please send the best and final version, specifically checking for any spelling mistakes or errors!

  5. The design will then go into production.

  6. Despatch and delivery.

We aim to despatch and deliver your badges within 14 days from receipt of your artwork.

What is a Vector PDF, AI or EPS file?

A Vector file usually consists of shapes, lines and text. It is a format that can be resized without usually any impact on the quality of your image.

PDF: A Portable Document Format is commonly used in Adobe Acrobat, and can be saved from many applications as an alternative to printing.

AI: A file created in Adobe Illustrator.

EPS: Encapsulated PostScript file. This is an older format but still used.

Your design: All you need to know

Printing - Once the size and placement is agreed, your design is applied to the garment with a heat transfer print. Heat transfer is long lasting and resistant to fading, cracking and peeling, even after multiple washes. The prints have a soft, smooth feel that won't irritate the skin.

Colour Accuracy - The printers will endeavour to match colours as closely as possible. As mentioned previously, if you require a specific colour match please include a Pantone colour reference on your artwork. Our prints boast a wide range of vivid colour that maintain their brightness over time. The technology produces a high-resolution print with excellent colour accuracy.

Text legibility - Please ensure there is sufficient contrast in the text colour to make sure it is legible. A dark green text on a dark blue badge background is probably not the best choice!

Photos - Please be advised that reproduction of a photo on a garment is not as detailed as a regular printed photograph.

Limitations - There are no limitations when choosing colours for your design and you can add any text and approved or owned logos and emblems.

Design Service - Please have your artwork ready before placing your order. Unfortunately, Scout Store is currently unable to offer an artwork service to turn your ideas into print ready files.
